The East Campus Improvement Project included construction of a new four-level parking structure for 1,100 cars, a new 7,000 gross square foot, single-story college police building and a realignment of the campus' east entry.

The new Police Offices include a waiting area, offices, a conference room, secure suspect processing area, and a locker room area outfitted with daylight-harvesting fixtures and waterless and low-flow plumbing fixtures. The project was awarded a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). It is the District's first police facility to be LEED certified.
The new parking structure used concrete that includes fly ash, a commonly-used coal combustion product that serves as a strengthening agent when added to concrete. As an open parking structure, there is no need for mechanical ventilation systems. Photovoltaic panels were installed on the top level and help offset energy needs for the police station and nearby Allied Health Building.
The realigned east entry provides for a simple, safe way to enter the new parking structure area and provides improved travel around the campus' northern edge.
New landscaping emphasizes low water-use plants and trees that are compatible with the neighborhood climate and uses a high-efficiency irrigation system with an automatic controller that measures available moisture before watering.
